If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland, your smartphone is your best friend. From booking tickets to finding dining locations to monitoring wait times, there are apps that can help you make the most of your time in “the happiest place on earth.” With so many travel and Disney apps, it can be hard to know which apps are the best while exploring the park. Have no fear! Here are 5 mobile apps we think you’ll definitely want to download and check out before heading out to explore all that Disneyland has to offer!
The official app for the Disneyland Resort is a must-have for first time or returning park-goers. It’s basically a handy, easy-to-use guide to everything at the park. With this app you’ll be able to buy tickets, check wait times for attractions, make dining reservations, locate Disney characters, view PhotoPass photos and more!
2. Disneyland Lines from TouringPlans.com
This is another vacation app — not created by Disney — that can give you some unbiased info about lines and crowds to help you save time and money during your trip based on feedback from travel experts and visitors like yourself. You’ll see “Ride Now” and “Wait to Ride” recommendations, wait time estimates, menus and other features similar to the Disneyland app. You’ll also be able to ask questions and get quick answers from thousands of Disney experts.
Note: There are other similar free apps you may want to explore that can help you track wait times, find attractions, and plan your magical trip, including Mousewait Disneyland Lounge (App Store | Google Play) and Virtual Plaid (App Store). While these apps all have similar features, you may find you like the design and usability of one app over the other.
3. Eats for Disneyland
Calling all foodies! Exploring the fun and creative food Disneyland has to offer can be a whole adventure in and of itself! You can’t possibly try everything, which is where this app — the official app of DisneylandEats.com — comes in handy. You’ll be able to browse Disney food reviews and ratings, sort by location or cuisine, see what food is nearby, and save and share your favorites. Staff recommendation: the cream cheese stuffed pretzels are to die for!

4. Hidden Mickeys: Disneyland Edition
If you plan to spend your Disneyland vacation hunting for the Hidden Mickeys cleverly concealed in designs and artwork all around Disneyland, then this app is definitely worth the download. Like a scavenger hunt, the app will lead you to nearby Hidden Mickeys and even provide some hints. Plus, different profiles allow you and your family or friends to track your progress along the way, so it can be a fun competition among family or friends to see who finds more.

This isn’t a Disney-focused app per se, but it can definitely help you enjoy Disneyland safely and efficiently. If you group wants to split up at the park or someone accidentally gets separated, it can be hard to coordinate when and where to meet back up in the expansive park. Life360 lets you view the real time location of friends and family in your “circle,” which is great for meetups or in emergency situations. You can also receive alerts when someone leaves or arrives at a location and send secure photos and messages via a private chat.
